Inventec selects Valor’s assembly solution to optimize manufacturing processes

May 13, 2004

Valor’s Trilogy 5000 solution was chosen to optimize Assembly programming and accelerate NPI (New Product Introduction)

Valor Computerized Systems [VCR, WKN 928731], the leader in productivity increasing engineering software solutions to the electronics design and manufacturing industry, today announced that it has received orders for its Trilogy 5000 Assembly Engineering platform from leading Taiwanese Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) Inventec.

Valor’s decision to concentrate on the Far East as the largest emerging marketplace for outsourced Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) has recently been affirmed through additional sales of Valor’s Trilogy 5000 Assembly Engineering Solution to leading PC notebook, desktop and server manufactures in Taiwan, who are facing globalization challenges in the electronics manufacturing arena and need to offer trans-continental portability solutions to their internationally operating customer base.

“Valor’s Trilogy 5000 solution will help us streamline our internal manufacturing processes, allow for a faster and more accurate feedback to our customers, optimize our production processes and increase the quality of our products, while enabling us to turn around and hit the manufacturing floor faster,” says Inventec’s Director of Engineering.

One of the decisive reasons for selecting the Trilogy 5000 solution by the Taiwanese manufacturers is to add value to their long-term investments in manufacturing equipment by choosing a robust technology platform from a leading software solutions provider to the electronics industry. Valor’s dedicated commitment to the PCB Assembly industry assures clients they can work in close partnership with a solutions-provider who has proven expertise and leadership in the Electronics industry. Valor’s ability to understand its customers’ critical needs and business issues and to deliver solutions based on best-in-class technologies, such as assembly-line optimization and product grouping, form the basis of customer success, as Valor can provide them with a comprehensive engineering solution to address their specific process requirements.

Other important decision factors in favor of the Trilogy 5000 solution were tangible improvements in assembly line balancing with support for mixed vendor SMT lines, optimized assembly machine programming, product quality and process improvements.  Further reinforcing the value of the solution is the full integration of Valor’s globally recognized ODB++ standard data exchange format as the backbone platform of the Trilogy 5000 Solution.

“The NPI (New Product Introduction) market in Taiwan is one of the most dynamic in the world, in terms of product types and products shipped. Taiwan manufacturers, as a whole, ship more than 65% of notebook PCs to the world markets. The fact that many Taiwanese manufacturers transfer production lines to China, makes it a key market in terms of defining the technology needs in Greater China,” observed Uri Michaelis, President of Valor Computerized Systems Far East.

Valor will continue through its subsidiaries to provide extended services to its clients and to consistently expand its market presence in the Far East to become the leading supplier of software technologies to the electronics industry, offering a full scope engineering solution, integrating New Product Introduction (NPI), Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) into one streamlined workflow process.  Valor’s Far East organization has currently five offices including Hong-Kong, Taiwan, South, East and North China, and expects to double its work force within the year to further increase its sales coverage and service offerings throughout Greater China.
