Zhuhai Gowin to boost capacity for fiberglass fabrics

Zhuhai Gowin Fibreglass Co. Ltd, a fiberglass production manufacturer in mainland China, is set to expand its annual capacity for fiberglass fabrics from 16 million meters up to 18 million meters.According to the company, this expansion could help reduce the price of copper clad laminates (CCLs) in the mainland. Electronic fiberglass fabric is a key material for CCLs used in PCB manufacturing. In previous years, fiberglass fabrics used by local PCB makers were all imported.Gowin intends to continue expanding its annual capacity up to 70 million meters by 2006 through an Rmb200 million ($24.2 million at Rmb8.27:$1) investment and up to 110 million meters by 2008 with another Rmb200 million ($24.2 million) investment. In addition, the company will extend its business range to downstream products with high-added value.
