ECT and atg demonstrate new technology at APEX

Mar 01, 2004

Everett Charles Technologies and atg Test Systems have demonstrated new disruptive fixtureless technology for testing bare PCB panels at the IPC/Apex Expo in Anaheim. Demonstrations included multi image panels (18 x 24) featuring approximately 50,000 test points, dense BGA patterns, and fine pitch pads, tested at 10 ohms continuity in a total test time of two minutes. The embodiment of this unrivaled technology is called the ELIMINATOR test system. This revolutionary test cell eliminates costly test fixtures, eliminates the wait for fixture fabrication, and effectively eliminates the density, pitch and pad size limitations of pinned fixtures. It is equally suited to production and prototype volumes with no test parameter compromise. High voltage (up to 250 volts) test cells for the North American market are expected to ship in the third quarter of 2004.Source: PCBnewsline
