Aegis launches European subsidiary

Feb 23, 2004

Aegis Industrial Software Corporation has formed a wholly owned international subsidiary, Aegis Industrial Software Europe Limited head quartered in the UK. With 75 European customers, 6 Value Added Resellers and 10 European based machine vendor partners, Aegis is already well established in Europe. The European team is headed by Barrie Murray-Upton, Managing and Operations Director, and Peter Clegg, Business Development Director. The Directors have proven track records of bringing US CAD/CAM companies to Europe and rapidly establishing them as market leaders. Heading up customer support is Christian Teasdel, who brings more than four years’ experience in Aegis software through its machine vendor partners. Teasdel has worked across Europe within the electronic manufacturing industry. The subsidiary will scale throughout the course of 2004.Jason Spera, CEO, said, "This expansion is part of the Aegis business strategy to extend its North American leadership into Europe and Asia with strong regional sales and support operations. This enhances our support for existing global customers and makes our products more accessible to European manufacturers. We feel our software systems fit remarkably well into the sophisticated, quality driven market that European electronic manufacturing has become." Spera noted, "Aegis’ coherent solution from NPI through MES includes quality, SPC, traceability, and machine monitoring. This uniquely answers the world-class manufacturing data management needs of the European market. Manufacturers are no longer willing or able to hire specialized staff, redesign their processes or spend many man-months implementing solutions. They want easy to use, scaleable web-based system solutions to integrate into their current structure utilizing current assets."Peter observed that Aegis’ reputation for delivering quality product and service, as evidenced by winning the coveted Service Excellence Award for three consecutive years, is just what the Europe market demands. "There has always been a wish to make use of the business and process intelligence that exists in most factories to produce quality products utilizing real-time visibility of all the processes to reduce costs and thus increase profitability. With the market emerging from recession we are well positioned to grow Aegis’ business in Europe" states Clegg, adding "product genealogy and traceability will also become important issues for lead free manufacturing."Source: PCBnewsline
