JUKI increases throughput with multi-nozzle vision centering
Feb 25, 2004
JUKI Automation Systems, leading supplier of surface mount assembly machines, introduces the Multi-Nozzle Vision Centering (MNVC) option for its KE-2060 line. The KE-2060 high-speed flexible mounter is equipped with one multi-nozzle laser head and one high-resolution head. The benefit of the new MNVC option is that it allows all five nozzles to place vision components. Without MNVC only the high resolution head can place vision components. The MNVC option is an inexpensive way to significantly shorten the cycle time on vision components. With the additional heads placing these components, throughput is nearly doubled. All types of components including odd sized or odd shaped components as well as standard chip sizes can be placed with the MNVC option. "We’re seeing more and more fine pitch components gdgdgdsuch as QFPs, BGAs, and CSPs in SMT designs, particularly in computer, telecom, medical, and automobile industries. Now we need faster placement throughput of these components. Vision centering is very important to increasing the overall production capacity in the SMT assembly line," said Kaz Nomoto, President of Juki. Juki Automation Systems Inc. is a leading supplier of SMT automated assembly equipment to the printed circuit board assembly market. Since 1987, Juki has shipped more than 10,000 SMT systems, making it one of the world’s largest suppliers of SMT Assembly equipment.
