MIMOT introduces full active "quick change" feeder concept
Dec 19, 2003
MIMOT has launched its new full active feeder system with quick change racks which is said to speed up and simplifly production by combining ‘triple intelligent’ Triligent feeder technology with the concept of exchangeable feeder banks for greater speed and flexibility in high-mix assembly environments. This new system will be introduced at APEX 2004 in booth #1433. The full active feeder concept claims to dramatically reduce feeder exchange time through active high-speed optical communication between the system, intelligent feeders, and the operator. The totally transparent Full Active system is an expansion of the Triligent "Triple Intelligent" Feeder concept, by adding Quick Change Racks that can handle groups of Triligent Feeders for quick exchange. The operator has many choices, depending on production needs: intelligent single feeders, exchangeable feeder banks, or a combination of both. MIMOT’s Triligent feeders add speed, versatility, flexibility, and efficiency to the pick and place process. With the addition of the Quick Change feature, an operator can use single active feeders or Exchange Racks with pre-selected feeder-families. This flexibility is particularly advantageous for CM’s using customer components, for users with many different products without overlapping components, and for manufacturers who work for different divisions with different component families.
