BEST Inc has announced it is offering IPC/WHMA-A-620 training, the industry standard for cable and wire harness fabrication and installation. IPC/WHMA-A-620 describes acceptability criteria for crimped, mechanically secured and soldered interconnections and the corresponding lacing/restraining criteria. Classes of products are defined and include criteria for Target, Acceptable, Process Indicator and Defect conditions to support the collection of visual quality acceptability requirements for each class. The standard is supported by 500 full-color illustrations.Katie Radcliffe, training coordinator for BEST explains the usefulness of the training this way: "This certification can be used by companies as either a standalone document for purchasing products having cable assemblies or harnesses or to support their ISO certification documentation requirements."Classes will are currently set for February 9-11 and May 24-26, 2004 in the BEST training center near Chicago Illinois. BESTs’ mobile training center or customer sites can also be used as the training centers. Operator proficiency training is a three-day program that has 24 instructional hours by instructors with 20 plus years each of instructional training. Source: PCBnewsline
