FlexLink announces major medical device assembly equipment contracts

FlexLink has received significant orders for software and equipment for assembly and quality control of medical devices. Three large projects are presently under construction for leading manufacturers in the USA. Approvals required by the Food and Drug Administration are supported by the software. The total order value exceeds $2 million USD.The deliveries include complete assembly lines with software for detailed control and documentation of the assembly process. The products to be assembled include catheters, a new generation of dental braces, and dispensers for pharmaceuticals. Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a unique FlexLink software platform initially developed for electronics production. MES provides the information and documentation required for a strict quality control, production management and follow-up. In making the announcement, Fredrik Jönsson, CEO, said, "We see these projects as a breakthrough for our technology in applications within automated assembly of high-value products, where flexibility and traceability are crucial success factors.
