Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT), announced that Alcatel's Raleigh, N.C. location has chosen the Mentor Graphics(R) Board Station(R) PCB design suite to standardize its design flows and methodologies.Completely replacing Alcatel's existing PCB design tools, the Mentor Graphics solution will allow people at Alcatel's Raleigh location to share libraries and design data for improved efficiency, integration and shorter design cycles. To complete the new PCB design flow, the Alcatel Raleigh site also selected Mentor's state-of-the-art ICX(TM) signal integrity tools and AutoActive(R) routing environment. The Alcatel Raleigh location implementation is expected to be complete by the beginning of 2003."In order to maximize the productivity of our design teams we were looking for a PCB design flow with the library capabilities to support design collaboration and design reuse," said Mike Zeeff, CIO Alcatel. "After evaluating a range of industry-leading PCB design solutions, we found that Mentor's tools best met our needs.""Board Station strongly supports the concurrent design, data management and system customization requirements of an enterprise environment like Alcatel's," said Henry Potts, general manager and vice president, systems design division, Mentor Graphics. "By establishing a design flow that integrates the industry's best routing technology and leading signal integrity analysis capabilities, Alcatel's design teams will be able to collaborate even more effectively."Source: PCBnewsline
