Frost & Sullivan honour Agilent with 'Metro Test Equipment Market Leadership' award

Oct 07, 2003

Company receives No. 1 rank in "World MAN Test Equipment Market" report Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) announced it has been recognized with a "Metro Test Equipment Market Leadership Award" from Frost & Sullivan, a global strategic market and growth-consulting firm, placing first in the "World MAN Test Equipment Market" report. The award is given to companies that exhibit market share leadership through the implementation of market strategy. Agilent was commended for its innovation and reorganization to meet the key needs of metro test equipment end-users, and for its wide range of test tools matched to each step of the metropolitan area network (MAN) equipment life cycle. "All the Agilent test tools were developed from the perspective that customers need to realize efficiencies that will enable them to be profitable," said Jessy Cavazos, Frost & Sullivan research analyst and author of the 2003 report "World MAN Test Equipment Market." "From the Agilent OmniBER OTN addressing module design conformance to standards, through the OmniBER XM for system verification and acceptance, to the Agilent J2127A tester for installation and maintenance, the Agilent product line is in harmony with current metro market dynamics in addressing test coverage, duration, costs and accuracy. Frost & Sullivan expects Agilent's innovative strategy and close relationships with customers to be key in maintaining its leading position in the metro test marketplace and for potentially boosting its market share." To assess market position, Frost & Sullivan uses interviews with leading market participants, conducts extensive secondary research of proprietary data, and tracks competitor revenue and market share within the industry.
