Nanya moves up 0.11-micron 12

Nanya Technology said it has moved up the timeline for its 12-inch joint venture with Infineon Technologies, now to start 0.11-micron production by the end of this year and reach 50,000 wafers starts by the third quarter of 2005.The two companies had earlier said at the construction kick-off ceremony in early December that they would complete preparations for 0.11-micron production at the joint venture by the second half of 2004. They had also stated in November when they sealed the deal that production would reach 50,000 wafer starts by mid-2006.Nanya said that test production using 0.11-micron processes is scheduled to start in the third quarter.Source: DigiTimes.com
