Pill see increasing demand for Vacuum Etching Technology
Sep 16, 2003
The interest in the Vacuum Etching Technology and the demand for this kind of conveyorized wet processing lines made by PILL e.K. – Technology for PCB has further risen in the last months. In spite of the holiday months from June to August which are usually characterized by thin order books PILL could sell more Vacuum Etching systems than in the first five months of the year. And further orders will be placed in the near future. Process engineers from the PCB sector and metal structurizing pay more and more attention to the PILL system which has been tried out in practice since two years now, in which the etchant is extracted from the upper side of the PCB to avoid the "puddling effect". Direct comparative tests with traditional systems show that PILL’s Vacuum Etching Technique has often better results but always at least equally good results, however with less space requirement, easier operation and less maintenance. Even critical potential buyers from the Far East discover more and more the advantages of the Vacuum Etching Technology and confirm evenn etching rates across the entire PCB surface. The Vacuum Etching method is particularly suitable for differential etching ("half-etching"), i.e. the regular thinning of copper layers across large surfaces, with only one single pass and without subsequent corrections – perfectly in line with the principle of "avoid errors instead of correcting them". PILL expects a further rush of orders thanks to the rising investment confidence of PCB manufacturers and producers of chemical milling parts in the wake of a worldwide economic growth. In addition, a further miniaturizing of the parts and structures to be etched is expected, and Productronica 2003 will not fail to have a reviving effect on this sector of industry.PILL will again highlight the Vacuum Etching Technology at its exhibition stand No. 233 in Hall B3. Not only that visitors can virtually touch the exhibition line – they can also see this particular process and plant engineering in a specially produced video film. Interested customers can take a CD-ROM or DVD with them. On Thursday, November 13, from 13.30 to 14.00 h, the Vacuum Etching Technology will be explained in detail in a product presentation after the ZVEI panel in Hall B3.Source: PCBnewsline
