Agilent products allow server administrators to realize faster ROI and optimize IT investments Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) introduced industry-first products that combine remote server management capabilities with keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) redirection in a single solution, resulting in faster return on investment (ROI) and optimizing IT investments. The new products are designed to minimize server downtime by enabling administrators to easily and efficiently manage servers remotely, independently of what application is running or the state of the server. Tasks like power cycling, OS installation or BIOS upgrade can be performed effectively and remotely, eliminating the need to be onsite. Agilent's new embedded card and chip products provide original equipment manufacturers, original design manufacturers and system integrators with state-of-the-art capabilities in a highly integrated, cost-effective package. Additionally, Agilent's broad range of solutions allows customers the flexibility to choose the best product fit for their specific server management needs without compromising on functionality. Agilent's new remote storage features also generate substantial savings for customers, as administrators can use their local computer drives as a data-source for day-to-day maintenance of the remote systems. "Our new products give IT managers a truly virtual server management experience from anywhere in the network," said Siegfried Gross, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Digital Verification Solutions Division. "They support the convergence of two, previously separated technological paths, and elevate our customers' position in the marketplace."Source: PCBnewsline
