Sep 03, 2003
Christopher Group Inc. announced that it has purchased all assets and intellectual property of EPC Corporation (Dallas, TX), and will relocate EPC’s manufacturing to Christopher’s California headquarters.EPC, a preeminent manufacturer of verification and repair software and workstations for the printed circuit fabrication and assembly industries, has installed over 500 systems worldwide. Its patented software and hardware solutions allow users to identify, locate, rank, and repair defects on bare or loaded printed circuit boards, resulting in higher defect capture rates, reduced rework, and improved productivity. Multiple systems, including both electrical test and AOI platforms can be linked to the EPC verification stations, which are compatible with all major test and inspection equipment outputs. Their test point optimization software (U.S. Patent 5,485,081) allows the user to substantially reduce the number of test points in certain applications resulting in significant cost savings. Christopher Group Inc. distributes the Dainippon Screen automatic optical inspection systems to the printed circuit fabrication industry and Marantz AOI systems in the pcb assembly sector in the North American market, and has over 24 years experience in high technology marketing and field engineering. Service, applications support, and the EPC verification/repair stations including the Model 4800 flat panel display; Model 5500 projection VRS, and Model 1400 bench top VRS will continue to be available through Christopher Group’s worldwide distribution network.
