VLSI Research introduces quarterly market share updates

Data covers 500 companies over 450 equipment market segments VLSI Research has announced the introduction of quarterly chip equipment market share updates. This new feature on VLSI’s Chip Making Markets service is now available to all customers through VLSI’s website.VLSI’s quarterly market share database includes all chip equipment suppliers market shares on a quarterly basis. All market segments in wafer fabrication, test, and assembly are included. This database is now updated through the first half of 2002. VLSI will continue to provide regular quarterly market share updates to its customers in all market segments. A highlight from the first half of 2002 is that ASML has become the largest IC stepper supplier. ASML holds 44.9% market share with $540.4M in IC stepper sales. The quarterly data also shows that Top 10 suppliers continued to gain market share against the whole industry during the first half of 2002, showing the industry consolidating among the largest players.
