HannStar says, "Glass shortage in 2008 likely to affect on panel supply'

The short supply of LCD glass will hinder pane manufacturers' capacity expansions, resulting in a tight supply of LCD panels in 2008, Taiwan's DigiTimes quotes HannStar Display CEO Joe Chou as saying.
The supply of glass for 2008 will tighten compared to 2007, and notably, this will have an effect on fifth-generation (5G), 6G and 7G fabrication lines. The market saw relatively slow beginning in January this year, and demand will grow from February and thus the market will enjoy a rebound in March, Chou predicted.
