Taiwan PCB makers optimistic despite possible Motorola handset spinoff

Taiwan-based printed circuit board (PCB) makers have maintained that their supply to Motorola will remain unaffected in the short term despite the US vendor's recent announcement that it may spin off its handset division, according industry sources.
Expressing surprise at Motorola's announcement, the sources with Taiwan's PCB makers said that in January and February they received orders from the vendor for trial production of several new applications.
