Knight Electronics provides OEM customers on-the-ground presence in China
Knight Electronics Inc., a direct global manufacturer with expertise in solving issues of quality, availability, performance and cost competitiveness, provides a new service and additional set of benefits with the opening of a vendor-managed inventory warehouse in China. The VMI warehouse was established to meet the growing market demand in Asia and to provide a major time- and cost-saving benefit to customers.
"Our VMI warehouse provides our OEM customers with a presence on-the-ground in Asia, so they don't have to manage the hassles of shipping, inspections, and delivery times from the United States or Europe to Asia," said Bob Knight, president of Knight Electronics.
"Our customers' products can be manufactured in China and shipped directly to their Asian customers, reducing inventory, shipping and inspection costs while increasing profit margins."
For OEMs trying to penetrate the Chinese market as well as other Asian countries, the VMI warehouse will help reduce large capital outlays for large quantity shipments, provide a point for Asian site inspection, reduce travel time and expenses, solve communication problems, remove a risk associated with quality issues, and solve the logistics problems of shipping, payments and return of defective products.
The warehouse in China adds to Knight Electronics' other warehouse locations in Kent, UK, Gdynia, Poland, Taipei,Taiwan and Dallas, Texas, offering Knight's OEM customers a warehousing presence on three continents.
