Technology Forecasters' President presents 'Green Supply Chain Award' at upcoming SCOPE East
Dec 04, 2007
Supply Chain Operations Private Exposition (SCOPE), the executive forum for supply chain and logistics solutions, is sponsoring the 'Green Supply Chain Award' at the upcoming SCOPE East event in March, 2008 in Philadelphia, PA.
Pamela Gordon, President of Technology Forecasters Inc. will present the inaugural award on behalf of SCOPE. "Supply Chains are manufacturers' lifeblood, and when combined with Lean and Green principles they benefit manufacturers' competitiveness as well as environment and society" states Ms Gordon. Copies of Ms. Gordon's book will be offered at a discounted rate at the event.
The Green Supply Chain Award is aimed at rewarding organizations that are making genuine efforts to minimize the environmental impact of their supply chain processes.
According to Toby Harris, Show Director for SCOPE, "The green issue now more than ever is a key corporate concern. As transportation and logistics account for such a significant portion of an organization's carbon footprint, supply chain executives are best positioned to drive meaningful green initiatives. This award is designed to spotlight some of the more successful initiatives so others can learn and draw from those successes." The award will be presented at the SCOPE Industry Gala Dinner and for the winner, SCOPE will make a donation of 1,000 trees to American Forests (www.americanforests.org) on behalf of the winner's organization.
