HP and Acer increase low-cost notebook orders for Wistron

With major notebook vendors all eyeing the low-cost segment, Hewlett Packard (HP) and Acer recently increased their 2008 orders with Wistron for sub-US$600 models, according to industry sources.
During the fourth quarter, Dell has continued increasing its low-cost notebook orders from Wistron for next year, adding a total of about two million low-cost models to the US vendor's 2008 orders from the Taiwan ODM, the sources revealed.
