Lightspeed Manufacturing, a growing EMS provider and BGA technology specialist in northern Massachusetts, has been chosen by Avici Systems, a leading provider of purpose-built carrier-class routing solutions for the Internet, to perform all component replacement and repair work for Avici's router products.
Lightspeed will work in partnership with Labman One, LLC, a provider of electronic laboratory services for the high tech industry. Labman One will provide laboratory management services for Avici. Together, Lightspeed and Labman One will provide depot repair services and manage Avici's maintenance program for its routers.
In making the announcement, Rich Breault, President, said,"Labman One's unique skills in lab management, combined with our expertise in rework and assembly, will make an unbeatable team for Avici, allowing them to focus on their new venture, Soapstone Networks, without worrying about their router customers. Our combined focus on technical competence, customer satisfaction, and responsiveness make this partnership an ideal fit, providing a complete depot repair solution for Avici."
In February of 2007, Avici announced that it would be transitioning its operations away from core router development to focus on its new business initiative, Soapstone Networks.
