LaBarge, Inc. has received a $6.3 million contract from United Launch Alliance (ULA) to produce complex wire harnesses for the Atlas V launch vehicle. ULA is a joint venture between The Boeing Company and Lockheed Martin to support U.S. government missions in space with reliable and cost-effective launch service solutions. LaBarge anticipates follow-on orders.
For the past 15 years, LaBarge has made wire harnesses for the Atlas family of launch vehicles, which take satellites into orbit. The Atlas V was developed for the U.S. Air Force's Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) program. ULA's Atlas, along with the Delta IV and Delta II, provides launch services for Air Force, NASA and National Reconnaissance Office missions.
Production is taking place in Berryville, Ark., and is expected to continue through early 2010.
