HKPCA and IPC - organisers of the 2003 International Printed Circuit and Electronics Assembly Fair to be held on December 10-12, 2003 have announced that the event has been well received by PCB industry players. By June 30, the fair had successfully attracted over 130 worldwide exhibitors, mainly from the U.S.A., Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China, while the number of booths reached almost 500, exceeding figures from the corresponding period of last year’s fair. In terms of exhibit profile, PCB equipment (39%) and PCB materials (30%) comprise the majority, whereas electronics assembly shares 16% of the overall exhibits. Compared to the pre-SARS period, the total number of exhibitors has increased by 15% and the number of booths by 10%. "Due to the previous unstable factors in the first half of the year, the second half of 2003 will be even more significant to the industry," said Tom Tang, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Hong Kong Printed Circuit Board Association Limited. "In this light, December becomes a perfect time for the industry’s activities. Thus, most of the manufacturers welcome the Fair reschedule from September to December as it allows more time for their preparation." A meeting for exhibitors will be held in mid-August to assign booth location according to the exhibit space applied. Source: PCBnewsline
