Printar launches GreenJetTM, first-ever digital solder-mask printing system
Nov 13, 2007
Printar Ltd., announced the introduction of GreenJetTM, the first-ever fully digital solder-mask printing system for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) production. GreenJetTM achieves an unparalleled level of performance for solder mask formation by replacing the conventional coating, drying, exposure and development processes with a simple, one-step process.
"The introduction of GreenJet marks a milestone in the PCB industry," says Amir Noy, CEO at Printar. "Not only will PCB manufacturers enjoy cost reduction - GreenJet eliminates multiple, costly processes - but also enhanced performance and reduced manufacturing cycle time."
"Unlike conventional printing methods, GreenJet is meeting the demands of new, higher density designs," adds Ron Zohar, President. "The Printar system is adapted to both the smaller pad spacing and the tighter registration tolerance requirements. And GreenJet enables solder mask to be applied in the tight spaces between copper landings."
GreenJet employs proprietary printing technology to selectively apply the desired thicknesses of solder mask to the board, keeping pads, via holes and non-functional areas between PCBs and panel borders free of solder mask.
