Matsushita shuts down CRT plants in Southeast Asia

Bangkok Post and other local media reported that Matsushita will shut down its CRT plants, MT Picture Display, in Thailand and Indonesia. These plants have manufactured CRTs to be supplied to North America and Asia. According to the company, this shutdown is attributable to a decrease in demand for and a weakened price competitiveness of CRT TVs.
