Speedline to present webinar on stencil design
Oct 12, 2007
Each month, Speedline Technologies offers a webinar free of charge on a topic relevant to process engineers in OEM and contract electronics manufacturing. On Thursday, November 15, 2007, a webcast will be presented on stencil design and its role in defect reduction and process cycle time improvement. The presentation lasts one hour and commences at 11:00 am Eastern time.
Printing occurs early in the assembly process. Rather than being a potential source of defects, this should be viewed as an opportunity for defect prevention. Proper stencil design is the first step in defect-free printing, and it is also a critical factor in cycle time reduction. Whether in OEM or contract manufacturing, the process engineer must understand the criteria that determine a well-designed stencil and how the design impacts the print process.
Specific areas of discussion will include an overview of the printing process, basics of stencil design, and the impact of design on defect reduction and cycle time. In addition, several "real world" stencil designs that were successful in eliminating manufacturing defects will be discussed.
To register for the Speedline webcast seminars, go to www.speedlinetech.com/seminars and complete the short contact information form. After registration, an email is sent with the website access address and the toll-free phone conference number. No special hardware or software is required, just high speed internet access and a telephone. A detailed schedule is provided on the web page above providing monthly topics and information on the webinar schedule for the remainder of 2007.
