Oct 18, 2007
IPC is pleased to announce the addition of David (Dave) Torp to its staff. As vice president of standards and technology, Torp is responsible for IPC's certification, professional development and multimedia programs and will also provide strategic direction, leadership, planning and oversight for all standards development and technical activities.
With more than 20 years of experience in business development, marketing and engineering operations, Torp most recently served as vice president of marketing and business development at Kester, ITW in Itasca, Ill. Prior to Kester, he held various engineering positions at Rockwell-Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Torp's diverse and long history in engineering and market and business development made him well-suited to lead IPC's standards and technical activities. IPC President Denny McGuirk said "Dave is well versed in the industry, having worked for IPC member companies, has developed proven strategic initiatives for the companies he's worked for and has already forged strong working relationships with marketplace leaders. All this makes him an excellent standards and technology advocate."
Torp holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Iowa State University and executive education certificates from Harvard Business School, University of Michigan and University of Pennsylvania. He can be reached at 847-597-2848 or DavidTorp@ipc.org.
David Bergman, former vice president of standards, technology and international relations, is now focusing his full attention on IPC's global initiatives in his new position as IPC's vice president of international relations.
