After beginning 20-inch LCD TV assembly operation at its Rosarito (Baja California), Mexico-based factory in May, Sharp plans to further double the plant’s LCD TV monthly assembly capacity to 20,000 units and begin operations at the added facilities in October, reported the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. While sourcing LCD TVs of other screen sizes directly from its Yaita (Tochigi Prefecture), Japan-based factory, Sharp aims to sell 400,000 LCD TVs to North America this fiscal year (ending March 2004).Source: DigiTimes
