Productronica 2007 - micro-production in the Limelight
Oct 15, 2007
-- Productronica 2007 has designated the complete Hall B5 to production technologies for micro-electronics and nano-electronics. -- Technology leaders and specialized companies with new creations as well as tried-and-tested products and solutions for micro-production -- Up-to-date: live production line "Customized System in Package Solutions"
More functions in increasingly smaller equipment: this primarily means a high degree of integration for innovative electronics products, which the market is demanding and which is only possible using micro-engineered components. The demands on quality and precision are correspondingly complex in production in the micro and nano ranges. To keep pace with the market and competitors, manufacturers of electronic components and products need to employ the most modern micro-production technology. Productronica 2007 will show this as the leading world trade fair for electronics production in Munich from 13 to 16 November 2007. A complete hall - Hall B5 - will be dedicated to micro-production with big names from the industry and pioneering technologies.
Overall, approximately 230 international companies will show new as well as tried-and-tested products and system solutions for micro-production in the automobile industry, mechanical engineering, communications and medical technology as well as in the electronics industry. Among other things, the center of interest will be on lithography and substrate processing, micro-machining, bonding, micro assembly, micro drive engineering and micro-positioning. Micro-production in Hall B5 is the continuation of the successful "MicroNanoWorld", which took place at the last Productronica for the first time and then was the top place to go for specialists of micro- and nano-electronics at electronica 2006 too.
Technology with many new products The exhibitors in Hall B5 - including industry big names such as AMI DODUCO, Carl Zeiss, F & K Delvotec, various Fraunhofer Institutes, Laser 2000 3D-Micromac, LEONI, LPKF Laser & Electronics, Newport Spectra-Physics, Physik Instrumente, Rofin-Sinar and TRUMPF Laser - have already announced presentation of a few new products at Productronica 2007.
For example, the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT (booth B5.355) is presenting a novel bonding technology for metal-synthetic material components. Trade visitors, who are especially interested in microscopy, will get to know the new "SteREO Discovery.V20" with zoom factor 20 from Carl Zeiss (booth B5.240). The Laser 2000 3D-Micromac company is presenting its flexible "microJET" at booth B5.270 at Productronica 2007, an ophthalmic marking system for printing of lenses. Trumpf Laser (booth B5.504) will show solutions for machining silicon wafers, including the production of thin-layer solar cells, with its "TruMicro 7050" and "TruMicro 3140" for separating wafers or insulating edges. Physik Instrumente (booth B5.331) holds out promise of conquering many application areas with its new, compact "RodDrive" piezo-linear engines with high speed and position resolution. Rofin-Sinar is presenting a compact and efficient all-in-one foil marker called "LabelMarker Compact" at booth B5.213. At the same time, Rofin Baasel Lasertech is introducing a new generation of pulsed beam sources for laser welding with "StarPulse".
Convincing: live production line for micro-electronics Innovative micro-production technology in action is part of the program at Productronica 2007. For example, it will demonstrate how electronics can be adapted to an application environment in the live production line "Customized System in Package Solutions". A flexibly programmable RFID component will be produced on this show area at booth B5.255, and trade visitors can witness its perfect functioning live. This special exhibition sponsored by Messe München is being arranged by VDMA, German Engineering Federation, special Productronic Division. The Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM), Aurel Automation, Coveme, Dynamic Systems, DuPont, Feig Electronic, Heraeus, Ipte, Koenen, Schnaidt, and Siemens A&D are participating in it.
Expert platform "VDMA Forum" Because exchanges of information between experts are indispensable for developing innovations, Productronica is continuing to support knowledge transfer actively between industry and research. The "VDMA Forum" in Hall B5 provides a rich series of talks oriented to actual practice with speakers, who report about their experiences with contemporary solutions for micro-production, the future of micro-electronics and exciting new application fields.
