Shinsung ENG to build solar cell plant in Jeungpyeong, Chungbuk

Shinsung ENG Corporation (CEO Lee Wan-Guen, www.shingsung.co.kr, a South Korea-based semiconductor and flat display (LCD) equipment enterprise, announced on September 3 that it has completed the selection of a solar cell production land.

Shinsung ENG plans to enter into the solar cell industry as part of its business diversification project, while producing multi- and single crystal poly-silicon solar cells. To achieve this, the company is just around the corner of making a contract to purchase the plant land of 20,000 pyung ($66,116 m2) from the local government, Chungbuk Jeungpyeong-Gun Office. The Korean vendor is poised to embark on construction of the solar cell plant as soon as it reaches an agreement for the land.
