LogicTools presents procurement and inventory strategies symposium

Supply chain planning tools developer LogicTools has announced that it will host a symposium on October 17, 2003, featuring several academic and business leaders who will discuss strategies and techniques for improving profitability and reducing costs by strategically positioning inventory throughout the supply chain. The symposium, which is being held at the Summit Executive Center in Chicago, will include presentations by top supply chain experts from Descartes Systems, LogicTools, and SAP, as well as case studies and panel discussions by executives from General Motors, Kraft Foods, Ipiranga, and Timken. In addition to these topics, the symposium will also address issues such as "Best practices in global sourcing; trade-offs between outsourcing vs. vertical integration", "Gaining competitive advantage by managing risk and uncertainty in the supply chain", and "Generating significant value using inventory optimization while leveraging existing IT infrastructure".The full-day symposium is aimed at supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, and operations executives and practitioners who are interested in applying new concepts in supply chain technology while maximizing the ROI on their existing software.
