Remaining SMTA certification dates for 2007 announced
Aug 28, 2007
Each SMTA Certification program, one for SMT Processes and one for Six Sigma Green Belt, is a 3-day workshop consisting of refresher topics and both open and closed book examinations. The workshop, as well as the exam, assumes that the participant has at least 2-3 years of SMT experience and has an educational background equivalent to two years or more of college in a technical discipline.
SMTA Certification is not an entry-level program. Basic algebra and statistics will be used in the workshop and examination. The examination is "competitive" in that it requires written answers and some calculations. The intent of this procedure is to enable students to establish credentials as "Certified" by the SMTA in SMT Assembly Processes or SMT Six Sigma Green Belt.
Remaining SMTA Certification programs in 2007 are planned for the following dates and locations: • September 17-19 (Processes) - San Jose, CA - In conjunction with the Fourth Annual IWLPC. • October 8-11 (Processes and Six Sigma Green Belt) - Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center (Orlando, FL) - In conjunction with SMTA International. • November 6-8 (Processes) - hosted by Alcon Laboratories, Irvine, CA.
