Hon Hai saw sales break NT$600B. in first seven months

Aug 17, 2007

Thanks to the synergy of vertical integration, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Taiwan`s largest private-sector enterprise, registered NT$607.22 billion (US$18.51 billion at US$1:NT$32.8) in consolidated sales in the first seven months of this year. The company will very likely challenge NT$1.2 trillion (US$36.58 billion) in annual sales this year.

The company said that it has seen its production lines at full capacity as consumer electronics and information-technology products are entering a peak sales season. The company posted NT$96.55 billion (US$2.94 billion) in sales in July, hitting a historic high.

To cope with clients` demand, Hon Hai has increased shipment of consumer electronics since the beginning of July.

Including the combined sales of NT$26.2 billion (US$798.78 million) scored by its major listed subsidiaries, including Q-Run Technology Corp., InnoLux Display Corp., CyberTAN Technology Inc. and Pan-International Industrial Corp., Hon Hai Group posted NT$122.75 billion (US$3.74 billion) in overall sales in July alone.

Q-Run, Hon Hai Group`s cash cow, posted NT$10.496 billion (US$320 million) in sales in July, up a whopping 64.31% year-on-year but down 4.14% from the preceding month. The decline in July sales from the preceding month was caused by the sluggish sales in game consoles.

With the advent of the sales peak season for the Christmas Holidays, Q-Run is expected to see continued growth in sales in the third quarter of this year.

InnoLux, Hon Hai Group`s TFT-LCD panel subsidiary, said it registered NT$13.693 billion (US$417.46 million) in sales in July, up 2.6% from the preceding month`s NT$13.34 billion (US$406.7 million) and hitting a historic high record. The company posted NT$82.105 billion (US$2.5 billion) in cumulative sales in the first seven months of this year, up 59.11% year-on-year. The company was Taiwan`s most profitable flat-panel manufacturer by scoring NT$1.93 (US$0.05) in after-tax earnings per share in the first half of this year.

Pan-International saw combined sales amount to NT$1.152 billion (US$35.12 million) in July, up 6.94% year-on-year. CyberTAN posted NT$951 million (US$28.99 million) in sales in July, up 3.76% annually.
