Indium Corporation's senior technologist, Dr. Ronald C. Lasky, Ph.D., PE, will present four one-hour workshops at Concibe 2007, June 7-8, 2007 in Mexico. The workshops will focus on global trends and process improvements in the electronics assembly industry.
An Overview of World Wide Environmental Compliance in Electronics - will present a brief overview of the WEEE/RoHS directives and the current state of WEEE/RoHS compliance regarding issues and challenges.
Trends in Electronics Manufacturing - will focus on current trends in PWB, IC and electronic assembly regarding technology advances, market share per world economic regions and future outlooks. It will also include a "teardown analysis" of a personal computer and a cellular phone to help understand the cost of technology and how it drives world wide manufacture.
Applying Statistical Process Control to Improve Quality and Productivity in Electronics Assembly - will cover the importance of statistical process control to high yield/high profit electronic assembly.
The Growing Threat of Counterfeit Components - will discuss how low labor rates in Asia have spawned a new industry: Counterfeit Components. The presentation will also include examples and techniques to identify counterfeit components.
Dr. Lasky, holder of the prestigious SMTA Founder's Award, is a world-renown process expert and a visiting professor at Dartmouth College. He has over 20 years of experience in electronics and optoelectronic packaging and assembly. He has authored or edited five books and numerous technical papers, and holds several patent disclosures.
