Landrex AOI Technology chosen by Northeast EMS provider
Jun 11, 2007
Landrex Technologies, Inc. Has announced the recent sale of its Optima II 7301 Express AOI system to Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (IMS), Inc., an EMS provider located in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA.
In announcing the purchase, Jeff Buxton, Technical Operations Manager at IMS, said, "We evaluated a number of systems that we felt would specifically address IMS' need for flexible, reliable performance, and the Landrex 7301 Express won out. It really out-performed all of the others in the areas of throughput and ease of use. We wanted a system that required minimal setup time, since we are a high-mix environment, and we also wanted a system that multiple operators could learn to use with relative ease and assurance."
The Landrex 7301 Express is described as a value-priced AOI system that features high system accuracy and repeatability for the lowest false-flag rate in the industry. Five cameras provide full coverage of all detectable faults at full production line rates, and it is said to be ideal for assemblies built with lead-free solder.
It includes new E.1 system software with more capabilities including offline programming, barcode reading through the camera, and improvements in the GUI.
