Rohde & Schwarz expands MPEG-2 measurement platform
May 07, 2007
Rohde & Schwarz is presenting new functions for its R&S DVM family. The various models of the measurement platform are able to monitor, analyze, generate, and record MPEG-2 transport streams. Now featuring ATSC/8VSB and J.83/B, the DVM family is able to support further RF standards. The IPTV functionality for the high-end R&S DVM400 has also been significantly expanded, allowing the instrument to monitor up to 300 TV services in one Gigabit Ethernet interface. After RF signal inputs were implemented for the DVB-C, DVB-T/H, DVB-S, and DVB-S2 standards as essential improvements, the American ATSC/8VSB and J.83/B standards will now be added. With the expanded IPTV functionality, the R&S DVM400 can monitor up to 300 TV services in one Gigabit Ethernet interface. Additionally, the R&S DVM-K12 template monitoring option is available for automatic monitoring of undesired changes in the transport stream and the programs it includes. The flexible platform concept of the R&S DVM family can be customized to meet specific user requirements, making the series a powerful and versatile tool also in development. The systems are an ideal choice for network operators (satellite, cable, and terrestrial), operators of playout centers, system integrators, and monitoring authorities. Plus, the high-end solution R&S DVM400 is predestined for R&D applications. The options for the new ATSC/8VSB and J.83/B standards are scheduled for summer 2007. The R&S DVM-K12 template monitoring, R&S DVM-K10 in-depth analysis, and R&S DV-H264 transport stream library options, as well as the associated R&S DVM-K200 detail analysis, are now available from Rohde & Schwarz.
