ECS reports losses in April revenues, says paper
May 10, 2007
Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) announced April revenues of NT$6.46 billion (US$193.96 million), a 13.82% drop on month and a 7.56% drop on year, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) newspaper. Accumulated revenues for the first four months of 2007 amounted to NT$30.3 billion, a 1.47% increase compared to last year, noted the paper. ECS shipped 1.92 million motherboards in April of this year, dropping 17% sequentially, noted the paper. ECS estimates its second quarter revenue this year will be level compared to the first quarter due to the slow season, however, with the company having resolved most of its bad debt in the first quarter, there is chance for ECS to earn a profit in second quarter, the paper cited sources at ECS as saying. source: DigiTimes
