TXP enters reseller agreement with leading telecommunications OEM
May 24, 2007
TXP Corporation (OTC BB:TXPO.OBs), an ODM for the telecommunications industry, announced that it has entered a reseller agreement with a leading OEM of telecommunications infrastructure company to distribute TXP's Broadband Passive Optical Network (BPON) Optical Network Terminal (ONT) units to its customers.
Michael C. Shores, President and CEO, stated, "Our new relationship with this Fortune 100 OEM further validates our strategy to become a leading ODM supplier of ONT technology. Our units are already interoperable with most of the leading Optical Line Terminal (OLT) OEMs and our quick-turn capabilities enable us to launch products for our partners even faster and more cost effectively than traditional providers. As a result, we are ideally positioned to benefit from the rapid growth in new 'fiber-to-the-home' services."
ONTs are the customer-premise located devices used by a carrier to serve residential and business customers over a PON-based system. PON is a maturing point-to-multipoint technology which is being adopted by telephone companies globally because of its cost effectiveness in extending fiber-based services to the customer premises.
