Nepcon UK well received in 2007

May 28, 2007

This year's Nepcon exhibition received a warm reception from the industry, generating positive exhibitor feedback and lucrative on-stand business and the show team is already looking forward to Nepcon UK 2008

As the UK's only national exhibition for electronics manufacturers, Nepcon is a valuable platform for conducting business, networking and staying up-to-date with industry trends. This year's show was no exception, with a number of individual success stories reinforcing the importance of the exhibition's place in the industry calendar. One such story saw long-time exhibitor DEK sell a Horizon 03i screen printing machine to show visitor FAW Electronics. The Chesterfield-based electronics control design and manufacture specialist visited the DEK stand for a machine demonstration in the morning and returned that afternoon to place an order!

Further on-stand success was enjoyed by Adaptsys who received an order from Paris-based Naelcom for a 4710 BP Micro Systems Automated Programming System. Having set up the meeting in advance of the show, the Adaptsys team demonstrated the machine on the stand, prompting the French device programming specialist to place an order. In addition, Sunderland-based EMS provider Connor Solutions boosted the Astro stand by signing a deal to purchase a number of Fuji pick and place machines - representing a £1.5m investment in three new lines. DCB Automation Ltd. is also celebrating, having received an order for its new UltraVision AOI System at the show from leading CEM, Axis Electronics Ltd.

As Managing Director of Cupio, Andy Bonner suggests, the level of visitor interest registered at Nepcon 2007 is a solid indication of a healthy industry. "We were very encouraged by the number of visitors looking to purchase capital equipment - identifying this confidence as an extremely positive reflection on the state of the industry. We were delighted at the consistent demand for on-stand demonstrations and are currently following up on some very promising leads."

These sentiments were echoed by SCH Technologies Technical Director, Lee Hitchens: "As a first time exhibitor, this has been a fantastic show for us. The opportunities and contacts we have produced here will make the show worth every minute." E-T-A Circuit Protection & Control Sales Manager, Albert Pipe added, "We have returned to exhibit at Nepcon after a few years away and have been impressed by the quantity and more importantly the quality of enquiries we have taken. We have spoken to a number of high level decision makers in our target markets."

Nepcon Sales Manager Claire Jeffreys says, "There was a buzz at this year's show. Visitors are clearly using Nepcon to make purchasing decisions and this proves the real value of the exhibition where visitors can compare products in one place. The success of the show speaks for itself with many exhibitors having already reserved their place for 2008."
