Nanya views DDR400 rejection by Dell as slight glitch
Jun 18, 2003
A report last Friday that a batch of about one million DDR400 chips manufactured by Nanya Technology was rejected by Dell Computer affected investor confidence in the Taiwanese memory maker. Foreign investors have sold 5.384 million Nanya shares since the report came out. Nanya, however, said the rejected batch of DDR400 has been transferred to the spot market and expects no ill effect on its June revenues.Nanya emphasized that the DDR400 manufactured for Dell was rejected due to slight specification differences between Dell notebooks and Nanya’s products that will only require minor adjustments. It added that the discrepancy between OEMs and clients is not a rarity. Nanya also maintains confidence that its June revenues will be higher than its May revenues of NT$2.188 billion.Source: DigiTimes
