LaBarge Inc. said Thursday it received a $1 million contract from defense and aerospace company BAE Systems to produce electronic assemblies for the M88A2 HERCULES improved recovery vehicle. Labarge, a supplier of electronics, said the Army and Marines use HERCULES, or Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System, to recover 70-ton combat vehicles that are damaged on the battlefield or otherwise inoperative. The company expects to start production at its facility in Huntsville, Ark., in October and continue through September 2008.
