Compal to shift part of R&D to China, plans plants in Vietnam

Compal Electronics plans to shift part of its R&D from Taiwan to China to cope with its future growth and also plans to build plants in Vietnam for its global logistics deployment, according to company president Ray Chen.

The shift of R&D to China is being planned since the increase of R&D personnel in Taiwan has lagged the pace of the company's growth and production capacity in China has continued to expand, Chen explained.
