Jabil recieves Mexican government's national quality award

First EMS company to receive prestigious award Jabil (NYSE: JBL) Guadalajara was recently recognized by the Mexican Government with the National Quality Award 2006. The award is the maximum recognition at the national level given annually to an organizations that has the best total quality management practices. In addition to implementing best practices and total quality programs in their management standards, Jabil Guadalajara received the prestigious award for its continuous improvement efforts. Since the award was established seventeen years ago, only two companies in Jalisco have achieved this recognition. Jabil is the only electronics manufacturing services company to ever receive the award. (There are five major electronics manufacturing companies located in Guadalajara.) Ernesto Sanchez Proel, Jabil's senior director of Mexico was presented the award by Mexican President Felipe Calderón at the official residence of Los Pinos. "This award recognizes the excellent execution of Jabil's Guadalajara plant and is a reflection of the excellent practices of Jabil worldwide," said Sanchez Proel. "The goal of Jabil Guadalajara was to become the best plant in the electronics industry and this recognition makes our vision a reality." "For Jabil, this recognition is a tribute to the work of our dedicated employees that make an effort every day to increase the efficiency of the company and to continuously improve the service to our customers," he stated.
