Siemens introduces Siplace Maintenance Manager
Apr 30, 2007
With its Siplace Maintenance Manager, Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) has developed a new software system for electronics manufacturers that makes preventive maintenance easy by indicating at a glance which maintenance activities are pending for which machine. Preventive maintenance cuts down on unscheduled downtime and significantly improves the productivity of placement lines. The right maintenance schedule depends on a wide range of factors such as daily operating hours, environmental conditions or the total number of boards produced. The new Siplace Maintenance Manager lets electronics manufacturers plan, coordinate and log their maintenance work with exceptional efficiency. With the new software, the user adapts all service intervals to his specific production requirements, which enables him to perform the right maintenance on his placement systems at the right time. In addition, the Siplace Maintenance Manager makes it possible to control the maintenance of the entire production line, including non-Siplace components such as screen printers and reflow ovens. Since the software is an add-on to the Siplace Explorer, it can be started with a simple mouse click and presents the line manager with an overview of all pending and/or scheduled maintenance activities. Different color codes indicate the various conditions: Green: no maintenance needed; Yellow: Maintenance required; Red: Maintenance overdue. The Siplace Maintenance Manager software package additionally includes the so-called Plan Builder for creating customized maintenance schedules and making customer-specific adjustments to the maintenance intervals.
