Mar 07, 2007
Samsung Electronics announced that it would invest a total of $190 million to build its second LCD module (LCM) plant in Suzhou, China, and the construction began last week. The new plant is scheduled to be dedicated to generating TV modules in an effort to meet surging demand for LCD TVs in China, according to the Korean panel giant. With the new fabrication line to come on stream in September this year, its combined capacity in the Suzhou region will increase sharply from 3 million units per month to 5 million units.
