Design Solutions acquires Paradigm Manufacturing Partners

Design Solutions Inc. (DSI) has announced the acquisition of Paradigm Manufacturing Partners (PMP), an EMS and contract manufacturing services provider based in California.

PMP focuses on new product introduction (NPI) through medium-volume surface-mount board assemblies, box build and rework projects. Value-added capabilities include PCB layout and design for manufacturing.

In making the announcement, Sean O'Neil, president and CEO of DSI, said, "This acquisition helps DSI close the gap between design and manufacturing to provide a full product development solution under one umbrella." This solution, he added, includes concepts, industrial design and mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, FPGA/ASIC development, software integration and development, as well as PCB design and manufacturing.

Sean O'Neil described the acquisition as growth-driven, adding a greater range of capabilities to DSI's offerings for its expanding customer base.

Scott Penin, president and CEO of Paradigm, will remain on board and has been appointed to the position of V.P. of Global Manufacturing of DSI. O'Neil added, "As a six-sigma manufacturing guru and process engineer, Scott has helped, and will continue to help ensure that all products produced under the DSI roof are designed for the most efficient manufacturability, from a cost, production, and time perspective."
