More handset vendors and makers to join ultra-low-cost market

Sony Ericsson, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics as well as handset makers in Taiwan and China all plan to venture into the production of ultra-low-cost handsets, aiming to grab a portion of a market estimated to reach 300-400 million units a year globally, according to sources at Taiwan own-brand handset makers.
