Sagem Tunisie select fastest chip-shooter on the market

Mar 23, 2007

Sagem Tunisie have purchased multiple pick-and-place machines, including the award winning Genesis GC120Q - the world's fastest chip-shooter - for their high-volume production of broadband products.

"The Genesis GC120Q is fundamental to Sagem Tunisie's new production lines", points out Jean-Philippe Sacriste, Operations Director Sagem Tunisie. "Cost-per-placement and lowest cost of ownership is paramount to our business, and our comparisons showed that Universal Instruments' Genesis Platform was the clear winner in both cost-per-placement and throughput-per-square meter." Sacriste adds. "Coupled with excellent sales and technical support and fast reaction times, Universal's assembly equipment supports our business needs to optimise our productivity."

Genesis GC120Q - the workhorse of the Genesis range
Universal's new flagship Genesis GC120Q is equipped with four high-speed Lightning heads making it the industry's fastest chip-shooter with placement speeds up to 120,000cph.

Built for speed, the quad-gantry GC120Q's positioning system, feeder and software technologies combine to generate an unbeatable maximum throughput of 120,000 components per hour with the flexibility to place 01005 through 30mm square components. The platform also features a variety of patented tools and automated features engineered for precision placement, low maintenance, minimal downtime and low cost-of-ownership.

The GC120Q will be officially launched in Europe at SMT Nuremberg, Germany 24.-26. April. Stand Number: 7-338
