Taiwan is now world`s second-largest DRAM supplier

According to DRAMeXchange, Taiwan has moved into the runner-up position in worldwide DRAM manufacturing. In May, the US fell from second to fourth place, behind South Korea, Taiwan and Germany.The rankings were tabulated from May 256MB production figures and show South Korea holding the crown with 113.36 million units or 46.9% of the total production. Taiwan was second at 18.3% with 44.3 million units.With the approval of DDR400 by the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association, plus the release of chipsets supporting the standard, DRAM demand is expected to continue its recent rebound.Source: DigiTimes
