Taiwan to house world's largest optoelectronics industry cluster

With the addition of Tree Valley Park to the Tainan Science Park (TSP), Taiwan will soon get the largest cluster of optoelectronics industry, said Ching-Siang Liao, chairman of Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO).  CMO said last September there were already nine companies set up at the site, with most of them being CMO-invested companies. Asahi Glass Fine Techno Taiwan (AFT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan-based Asahi Glass, is the only company there that is not CMO related, the panel maker said.
